Restauration after problems with asbestos
In 2012, a high concentration of asbestos was discovered at in the Carillon School in Amersfoort. Due to this, the building needed to be evacuated and all the carillon keyboards required to be professionally cleaned. This cleaning was performed by Reinold and the asbestos materials contained within were removed. In addition, several practice keyboards have been restored to their original working condition.
The last student keyboard which is to be overhauled (by Petit & Fritsen) is currently being converted into an electronic touch- sensitive keyboard and will be completed in the summer of 2014. In addition, a children’s keyboard (which required overhauling as it was found to contain asbestos fibers) is also being restored.
